On October 27, 2024, the Central Railway conducted a mega block on the Harbour lines for maintenance work.

From 11:05 a.m. to 4:05 p.m., the Harbour line faced a mega block between Panvel and Vashi. During this time, Harbour Line services from Panvel to CSMT and CSMT to Panvel was discontinued. Special local trains were operated on the CSMT-Vashi route, and Trans-Harbour line services was continued to operate between Thane and Vashi/Nerul without any interruptions.

The primary objective of the mega block on the Harbour Line is to carry out essential engineering and maintenance tasks on the tracks, signals, and overhead equipment. These blocks are vital for maintaining the safety and integrity of the railway infrastructure.
