Narendra Modi, our honourable Prime Minister of India, has inaugurated the 15,700 crores project of the redeveloped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station and proposed Maharishi Valmiki International Airport during his recent visit to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

Inorder to ease the traffic congestion for the devotees and tourists to the Ram Mandir, these new infrastructural developments will be aiming to be opened in January 2024.

Along with Ayodhya Dham Railway Station and Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, the Prime Minster also flagged off 6 Vande Bharat Trains, setting new connectivity across the country from Ayodhya, offering the devotees a safe and effective mode of transportation from and to Ayodhya.

Ayodhya Dham Railway Station

Formerly known by the name Ayodhya Junction Railway, the Ayodhya Dham Junction Railway Station is a beacon of modern and heritage-rich advancement of this holistic city in Uttar Pradesh. The Ayodhya International Airport, officially named as Maharishi Valmiki International Airprt, is yet another infrastructural marvel that will be introduced into the expansion plan of Ayodhya. Sprawling across 821 acres of land, phase 2 of Ayodhya Airport will be open for travelers by January 10, 2024, with an elevation of offering international flight services and an elevated runway, which will be about 3200 meters in length.

Naming after the traditional author of Ramayana - Maharishi Valmiki, who was believed to have been born in the city of Ayodhya, the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhay Dham in Nakka city of Faizabad, serves both the cities of Ayodhya and Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh. The new Ayodhya Airport was inaugurated on December 30, 2023, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, showcasing a Ramayana-based theme with a lavishing and traditional touch to the exterior as well as interior designs. The Ayodhya airport serves both domestic and international flights.

The Maharishi Valmiki International Airport will be having a total of 3 terminals. The terminal 1 of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport is currently opened for the travelers which is part of the phase 1 of the Ayodhya Airport. Terminal 1 of Ayodhya International Airport, spread across 6500 square meters, features an architectural resemblance to the upcoming Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
